Working part-time

Important Regulations  

1. International degree students with valid ARC may work/intern legally in Taiwan but require a valid work permit, including for unpaid work or work on campus.

2. Work permits remain valid for a maximum of six months.

  • The Valid deadline for the application in the first semester: March 31 in the next semester
  • The Valid deadline for the application in the second semester: Sep. 30 in the same year

3. Maximum weekly working hours: 20 hrs (except for winter/summer break)

4. Failure to follow these regulations will result in the revocation of your work permit and fines of NTD30,000-150,000.

5. For application assistance, IMBA students should contact program officer, Ms. Ho.

6. Taiwan Scholarship recipients found to be working illegally in Taiwan will have their scholarships revoked, and will be liable to repay any living stipends received from the first day of such illegal employment.

7. MOE Taiwan Scholarship, MOFA Taiwan Scholarship and TaiwanICDF Scholarship students may be eligible to apply for work permits if they can demonstrate financial hardship.

 

Application Requirement 

1. International degree students with valid ARC who have completed the registration procedure

2. Applicant must demonstrate one of the following:

  • Financial hardship
  • Academic or research employment at NCCU 
  • Internship required by or related to studies
  • NCCU graduate student engaged in research work related to studies

Application Documents

1. Application form

2. Photocopy of student ID card (front and back) with registration stamp (attached directly to the application form)

3. OIC approval stamps on the application form

4. Application payment receipt (NTD100)

  • Original postal service fee receipt (NTD100/ per piece). Applicants may transfer the application fee from any post office or pay in person at the Workforce Development Agency (WDA)

5. Photocopies of the valid passport photo page and ARC (front and back)

6. Official justification for work permit application, such as:

  • OIC letter explaining that the applicant is experiencing financial hardship in supporting educational or living costs
  • Letter from the applicant's academic department or relevant office, if the applicant is engaged in on-campus employment or a required internship 

Application Procedure

1. Fill out the application form and prepare the required documents

2. Authenticate a photocopy of your student ID card (front and back side) at the NCCU Registration Office ~ 4F, Administration building

3. Obtain required documents (see Required Documents above)

4. Bring the application form and all other required documents to the Office of International Cooperation
